Manager expresses “anger” ahead of Aston Villa vs Legia Warsaw clash

Legia Warsaw manager reveals ‘anger’ ahead of Aston Villa

Latest Aston Villa news from BirminghamLive as Legia Warsaw manager Kosta Runjaic speaks ahead of European clash with Villa

Before Legia Warsaw takes on Aston Villa in the Europa Conference League, manager Kosta Runjaic has openly expressed his displeasure with his team.

The teams are tied in at nine points and will play on Thursday at 8 p.m. With a win, Unai Emery’s team hopes to continue their winning streak at home and take the top spot in Group E.

In September, Villa suffered their lone loss in the league at the hands of Legia in

Warsaw. The Villans defeated Tottenham at home, while Legia and Warta Poznan drew 2-2 the previous weekend.

Runjaic was left frustrated his players didn’t take the opportunity to move

within the top four. However, he is confident they will put on a good performance at Villa Park.

Runjaic stated, “Unfortunately, we did not receive the result.” “We passed up the chance to move up to the top of the table.

We had a strong start to the match, therefore we are upset and furious about

the outcome. We had a terrific situation with Ernest Muci, and we could have

taken the lead as early as the second minute.

“After that, we became distracted. The goals that were given up too readily were

crucial. We made an effort to stand up. We battled until the very last and

managed to draw, but this result falls short of our expectations. However, I

don’t want us to harbor this resentment for too long.

“We have two crucial road games coming up. After showcasing our strengths

against Aston Villa, we aim to close the gap and secure three points against Zagłębie.”
