NSW Police are looking into the case of NRL player Jacob Loko, who was detained in Sydney today on suspicion of possessing ecstasy.
It is reported that while the Canterbury Bulldogs player was at The Star casino early this morning, officers discovered a small amount of MDMA on him.

Loko, 23, was freed without being charged while additional inquiries were conducted.

Another man, 22, was charged by police with supplying drugs.

The Bulldogs said in a statement today that the NRL Integrity Unit will look into the matter as well.

The statement said, “Police have been looking into Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs player Jacob Loko’s possession of the drug ecstasy.”

Loko is under contract with the team through the end of the month, but he has been informed that his contract will not be extended.

“Until the investigation is finished, the club will not make any additional comments.”
In 2014, Loko was acquired by the Bulldogs from the Parramatta Eels.
