Ronnie O’Sullivan reported referee Rob Spencer on snooker master match for……….

Fans of snooker notice a refereeing blunder during the World Championship match featuring Ronnie O’Sullivan.

Observant spectators saw referee Rob Spencer erro during the World Snooker Championship quarterfinal match between Ronnie O’Sullivan and Stephen Maguire.

A refereeing blunder during Ronnie O’Sullivan’s World Championship quarterfinal match was quickly noticed by snooker enthusiasts.

The six-time champion had just potted the pink and was facing Stephen Maguire at the Crucible in Tuesday, April 26. Rob Spencer, the referee, attempted to reposition the ball on the brown area but overlooked the fact that the black had just been moved.

Commentator Shaun Murphy, a former champion, clarified, saying: “That pink belongs on the black spot. Pink’s in the wrong spot. It was once the players’ obligation, but that rule was modified a while back. Since O’Sullivan made that shot, it is now accepted as acceptable and will remain such.

Nobody noticed it. The previous shot’s cue ball circled the table, pushing the black away from its position and occupying the pink area, which meant the pink should have been re-spotted where the black had been. I guess it doesn’t really matter because it didn’t have any impact on the gameplay.”

One astute watcher tweeted, “He has put the pink on the brown spot!!!” despite the fact that the error may have gone overlooked by those seated around the table.
