Ken Doherty, a former world champion sand massage to Ronnie O’Sullivan over…..

Ken Doherty, a former world champion, stated that the current dispute did not reflect well on the sport.

Doherty stated: “There is history behind it with the shoulder barge at the World Championship and it goes from there” during ITV4’s broadcast of this week’s Grand Prix event.

“There is ill will between them, and [O’Sullivan] was also responding to what Ali stated during the press conference.

“I am sure World Snooker will review it and we’ll see what happens, but not great headlines re

ally.”

Not wonderful headlines’ are the result of bad blood.

On Tuesday, Carter retaliated once more, saying to ITV that Ronnie had a right to his own opinion. I simply stated the facts and how things were. That’s all there is to it.

“What he says doesn’t matter to me; he says various things on different days. He probably has no idea what will come out of his mouth at any given moment.

“To be honest, I kind of feel bad for him. He is not doing well, in my opinion. Thus, we proceed and will do it once more this week.”

“I stay away from him. He and I haven’t communicated in twenty years. I shared a lot of things and played with him when he was younger,” retorted O’Sullivan, using several expletives.

“Everyone is aware of his troubles, so it’s not surprising that he would come out and say such derogatory things about me. Why is he having problems with me? I refuse to accept it. It doesn’t concern me.

“I’m going to stop avoiding it and walking carefully around someone who acts that way.

“He’s terrifying. It’s a nightmare to have to play snooker against someone like him. There’s no pleasant energy emanating from him around the table, and he’s not a good person.

“I’ve said my thing. That’s it. I’ve expressed it He stated it now; it’s over.”
