Atlanta falcons Key player Set to leave as Atlanta falcons hired Raheem Morris

QB Marcus Mariota of the Falcons ‘quit’ on the team, according to an NFL agent.

Former starter Marcus Mariota of the Atlanta Falcons was benched in favor of rookie quarterback Desmond Ridder, and an NFL agent has blasted Mariota for leaving the organization.

Marcus Mariota hasn’t been a member of the Atlanta Falcons since his previous start against the Pittsburgh Steelers. There has been backlash over his abrupt absence.

An NFL agent remarked, “I thought Mariota quit on the Falcons.” According to the agent, “And it was unfair to a rookie like Desmond Ridder, who was there for Mariota up until that point in the season,” which was disclosed in a conversation with Mike Sando of The Athletic.

Head coach Arthur Smith disclosed that quarterback Mariota was suffering with a knee issue at the time of the quarterback switch. He was eventually placed on the Injured Reserve due to that knee ailment.

Given that he had started each of the Falcons’ first 13 games, this was the first we had heard of the seasoned quarterback having any problems. However, any thoughts of a comeback were dashed after the Falcons had lost two straight games, both of which ended with late interceptions by Mariota.

Desmond Ridder, a rookie quarterback, has taken the field since Mariota was benched. His first two starts appeared to be an improvement, even if he failed to break the 100-yard passing mark, earning mixed evaluations.

Ridder completed 22 of his 33 passes for 218 yards in the road loss to the Baltimore Ravens. His effectiveness against the Arizona Cardinals allowed the Falcons to snap a four-game losing streak.

After Ridder’s first professional start, Mariota made sure to get in touch with his successor even though he hasn’t been with the team.
