Two Philadelphia Phillies player fight

How Cliff Lee and Jimmy Rollins Got Into a Fight Over Unwritten Clubhouse Rules
Jimmy Rollins, a legendary player for the Philadelphia Phillies, claimed that Cliff Lee and he almost got into a fight over country music that was playing in the clubhouse.

When Cliff Lee was a member of the Philadelphia Phillies, his reputation off the field wasn’t the best. There was a lot of talk about his bad attitude in the clubhouse, even if his record on the mound (2.94 ERA in 118 starts) spoke for itself.

In 2014, as Lee was facing severe injury issues and doubts about his big league future started to surface, those reports became more persistent.

Though speculation was rife, very few reports ever surfaced from the Phillies’ clubhouse to support the rumors—aside from a peculiar video that some found offensive that showed Lee farting during an interview.

But after eight years, a tasty anecdote has finally come to light. It’s especially significant because it originates from none other than Jimmy Rollins, the de facto captain of the illustrious 2007–2011 campaign.
