|Maple Leafs Sign Jacob Quillan to 2-Year Entry-Level Contract
Jacob Quillan allegedly signed a two-year entry-level deal with the Toronto Maple Leafs. After finishing his junior season
with 17 goals and 46 points in 39 games, Quinnipiac University’s 22-year-old
centerman became a highly sought-after NCAA free agency. He has played in 116
games during his three years of college, scoring 38 goals and scoring 93 points.
With Quinnipiac, he earned a national championship the previous season.
In his first 20 games, he scored 13 goals and totaled 27 points for the Penticton
Vees in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) in 2020–21. Now, the
native of Nova Scotia will head back to Canada in the hopes of donning the Blue
and White in Toronto very soon. At 6-foot and 201 pounds, Quillan is a well-known
player in front of the net who possesses a powerful motor and an all-around skill
set. He instantly reinforces that portion of the depth chart because the Maple
Leafs lack a solid prospect pool, particularly down the middle. He will
probably play in the American Basketball Association, although he might suit up
for the Maple Leafs in the closing minutes and during the playoffs. Hockey
